Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information
Effective August 24, 2026 · Last updated August 24, 2026 · Version 1.0
California residents have the right to direct a business to limit its use and disclosure of their sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the services they asked for. This page explains what we collect, how we already limit it, and how to make a request.
We already limit our use of sensitive personal information to providing the service you requested: connecting you with a law firm or advocate. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you, and we do not use or disclose it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
1. The sensitive personal information we collect
- Health and disability information: your medical condition, whether you are receiving treatment or taking medication, and how long you have been or expect to be unable to work.
- Your Social Security number, only if you choose to provide it. Our questionnaire does not ask for it.
- Precise geolocation, only if you enable it on your device.
2. How we use it
We use this information for one purpose: to assess whether you may meet general eligibility criteria for Social Security Disability benefits, and to pass your request to a participating law firm or advocate so they can contact you about representation. We also retain a record of your consent, because the law requires us to.
These are purposes permitted under California Civil Code §1798.121(a): performing the service you requested, ensuring security and integrity, and complying with law, so a limitation request does not change how we handle your information. We honor the request regardless, and record it.
3. What a limitation request does not undo
It does not recall information already sent. If a law firm or advocate has already received your request, they hold their own copy under their own privacy practices. To stop them using it, contact that firm directly and ask to be placed on their internal do-not-contact list. If you tell us, we will notify them.
A limitation request is also not the same as an opt-out of sale or sharing, or a deletion request. Those are separate rights; see Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information and CCPA & Your Privacy Rights.
4. How to submit a request
Email privacy@legalleadaxis.com with the subject line "Limit Sensitive Information" and tell us:
- your full name;
- the phone number and email address you submitted, so we can find your record;
- the state you live in.
You may also write to us at the address below. No account is needed, and we will not charge you or treat you differently for making a request.
5. Verification and authorized agents
We match the details you give us against our records. We may ask for additional information to confirm your identity, and we will not use it for any other purpose. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf; we may require written proof of their authority.
6. Timing
- We confirm receipt within 10 business days.
- We act on the request within 15 business days.
- If we deny a request, you may appeal by emailing privacy@legalleadaxis.com with the subject line "Privacy Appeal." See CCPA & Your Privacy Rights §5.
7. Global Privacy Control
Where required by applicable law, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal sent by your browser or extension as a valid request to limit the use of your sensitive personal information, without requiring any further action from you.
